The biggest advantage of a metal bicycle garage over plastic or wood is the nature of the material. Metal is rainproof and weatherproof. Hot-dip galvanised, polyamide stove-enamelled metal (sheet steel) offers optimum corrosion protection (protection against rust). Metal cannot be cut through quickly, which leads to increased protection against theft. Metal bicycle garages are available in various sizes and colours.
This depends on the size and location of the bicycle garage. As a rule, however, you do not need planning permission for a metal bicycle garage if it is smaller than 75 square metres and is not used as living space. However, if you live in an area with special building regulations or listed building regulations, you should contact the relevant authority to ensure that you have all the necessary permits.
